Machinery spaces aboard ships, from workboats and vessels to super tankers, contain all the necessary elements for a devastating fire.  Oxygen is in abundant supply.  Fuel is present in the form of high pressure fuel lines, hot lube tubes, solvents and paint.  All it takes to start a fire is an ignition source like an electrical short, a piece of overheated equipment or a hot turbocharger.

Suppression systems provide vessel owners and operators with a range of viable options for effectively suppressing fires in machinery spaces.  Suppression systems solutions have been tested and approved by marine regulatory agencies throughout the world.
Suppression
Marine Suppression System using FM-200®
Engineered system employing clean, fast, people safe FM-200® gaseous agent.  Versatile protection for small, medium and large shipboard applications including machinery spaces and other Class B fire hazards.  Provides a flexible location of agent storing cylinders.  Compact design reduces weight and maximizes available installation space.
Fire Suppression System designed for use with 3M™ Novec™ 1230 Fire Protection fluid.
Engineered to provide clean, fast, people safe protection for machinery spaces and other Class B shipboard applications. Meets strict European environmental standards. System includes agent storing cylinders, piping and discharge nozzles.  Computer calculated to provide system discharge within 10 seconds.
Marine Suppression System using FM-200®
Engineered system to protect larger shipboard enclosures or for ultimate performance and "drop-in" efficiency when replacing existing Halon installations.  Recommended for machinery spaces and other Class B applications.  Discharge within 10 seconds and uses clean, fast, people safe FM-200® gaseous agent.
Carbon Dioxide Marine Suppression System
Fire Systems recommend the people safe clean agents (FM-200®, Novec™ 1230 fluid) for occupied spaces, but CO2 remains a popular choice for marine fire suppression.
