Seagull Safety Ltd was incorporated in 1989. Seagull Safety ( Singapore ) Pte Ltd was incorporated in 1992.

The Company is owned 80% by John Lewis and 20% by Andrew Dove.

The Company was started to provide Fire & Gas Detection Systems and associated audible and visual alarms to the Petrochemical Industry on and offshore. Products and services have been extended to the Marine and Military markets.

John Lewis – Managing Director – designed the first Fire & Gas Detection System in the UK sector of the North Sea, BP Forties A B C & D in the early 1970’s. John went on to provide many such systems in the UK, Middle East and in 1976 installed the first Gas detection system in India for ONGC – Bombay High A B C E.

Andrew Dove – Technical Director – joined Seagull Safety in 1991 having worked with John in Detection Instruments UK for 10 years. Andrew worked on many Fire & Gas Detection Systems with Detection Instruments and with Seagull Safety from the remote parts of Indonesia to the UK, Middle East and India.

The combined experience of John & Andrew is 76 years in the Fire, Gas and allied industries.

Products

Since 1995 Seagull Safety has been developing its own products.

There will be no more product segments, only improvement and evolvement of existing products.

Seagull Safety have been audited and licensed to manufacture explosion proof products by Baseefa in Singapore.

Quality Control

The most important part of manufacture is to have rigorous quality control in operation.This quality control is utilised for Project Systems.

Seagull Safety have current audited approvals for

• License to manufacture explosion proof products to IECEx and ATEX standards.
